What to Expect at Cayo Frances Farm & Fly
Cayo Frances Farm & Fly is a one-of-a-kind, DIY-focused fly fishing camp located on the untouched flats of Ambergris Caye, Belize. Guests come for world-class bonefish, permit, and tarpon — but they leave with something more: a true sense of adventure, connection, and escape.
A week at camp includes remote off-grid accommodations in a pristine island setting, daily access to BOTE paddle boards for DIY exploration, optional guided fishing days with experienced local guides, all meals prepared fresh at camp each day, and seamless arrival and departure transfers to and from San Pedro. Throughout it all, you’ll experience a relaxed, communal atmosphere built around fishing, great food, and life on the water.
Cayo Frances is perfect for anglers who want freedom and adventure over a packaged lodge experience — those who love exploring and fishing at their own pace, appreciate simplicity and authentic Belize, and enjoy ending each day with great people and stories under the palapa.
If you’re looking for a luxury resort-style lodge, we’re happy to recommend other great options on Ambergris Caye. Above all, we want every guest to feel confident that camp is the perfect fit — and if you’re unsure, just ask. We’re always happy to help guide you.
A Typical Day at Camp
No two days at Cayo Frances Farm & Fly are exactly the same — and that’s the point. But most weeks settle into an easy rhythm that balances fishing, exploration, and time to unwind.
Morning
Wake up to coffee and the flats coming alive. Enjoy a fresh breakfast under the palapa, then head out for the day — whether you’re paddling off on a BOTE board for DIY fishing or meeting a local guide for a day on the water.
Midday
Lunch on your paddle board or your guides skiff, a cold drink, and a break from the sun. Then get back at it for the afternoon session. Or head back to camp to relax in the shade and swap stories.
Afternoon
The best light of the day often arrives late. This is prime time to explore nearby water, hunt tailing bonefish, or simply enjoy the stillness of Belize from the flats.
Evening
As the sun drops, everyone comes back together. Appetizers and a family-style dinner under the palapa set the tone for the night — filled with laughter, fish tales & cocktails, and plans for tomorrow.
Night
Sleep comes fast after long hours wading, paddling, and casting — the kind of rest you earn from a day of saltwater, sunshine, and chasing tails.
