Belize is A Year Round Fishery

There is never a bad time to fish in Belize.  The fishery here is very much year round (with the exception being the largest migratory tarpon, which are here late spring through early fall.)  Bonefish, permit and tarpon are successfully targeted all year. Sure, there are seasonal variations in weather… Fall and early winter tend to be wetter, late winter/spring windier & drier, in the summer and early fall there’s the threat of organized systems rolling through… But we’d argue that what affects the fishing more than say “February Vs October” are week to week changes, such as a shift in wind direction or passing front. And unless you travel to fish like a big wave surfer travels to surf, these are factors impossible to plan trips around. So the best time to come and fish is arguably whenever you can get away… Whenever you need a break from anything and everything save wading a flat or standing on the bow of a skiff, scanning the water for pushes, fins and wakes.

So how does tomorrow look?

We don’t have an online booking calendar. You can’t click dates and make reservations online. You need to contact us.  This is not simply because we’re old, and rather luddite in nature (though there is that.)  Rather, at any given moment we’re having a dozen odd concurrent conversations about the upcoming season, with repeat guests, guides, fly shops, etc. There’s probably some algorithm or AI entity that could juggle this seamlessly, but we prefer to talk directly with folks.

Lots of folks at some point in their trip planning process, ask us “What’s the best time to come and fish in Belize?” To which we typically reply “Are you free tomorrow?”

The Camp is the ideal venue for group and/or hosted trips. We consider a “full camp” anything between 6 and 8 anglers. Think that booking out a lodge to have all to yourself is the exclusive domain of the upper 1%? Think again! We’re MORE than happy to work with you to customize a group stay to your particular preferences. Let’s discuss!

Guided days are $600 USD for a full day for up to two anglers. We have great relationships with some of the best guides and outfitters on the island and are happy to assist in setting up dates for you. The general rule of thumb is the earlier you set up your guided days the better. Some of our favorite guides book a year in advance at times.

To confirm a booking/hold dates we require a 50% deposit within 5 business days. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival. Our cancellation policy is the following: If a cancellation is made > 60 days before arrival, 100% of deposited funds are credited towards a future trip.
