Friends & Folks

The Camp is a collaborative effort.  There are a lot of folks who keep the gears of this machine rust-free (no small feat here in Belize.) You’ll get to know many of these folks when you come to stay here. Others you might cross paths with on a river or flat in your fishing travels.

Edgar Martinez: Camp Manager and Mr. Do EVERYTHING! Camp runs smoothly because of his “no problem” attitude.

Rachel Hulse: She has a knack for bringing her Belizean culture to life through food - and judging by the empty plates, she’s clearly doing something right!

Nick & Nickie Barnes, Cameron & Jill Ellsworth: Cayo Frances Farm & Fly has a new crew leading the camp: family, friends, and adventure-seekers Nick, Nickie, Cameron, and Jill, who chased a shared dream all the way to the back lagoons of Belize. Drawn by fly fishing, great people, and the easy rhythm of camp life, they stepped in with one goal: keep the spirit of this place exactly what it has always been.

They are building on what makes Cayo Frances special: quiet mornings, world class fishing, good food, and the kind of company that feels like old friends by day two. Whether you are here to chase bonefish, permit, and tarpon, paddle the mangroves, or simply settle into the stillness of the camp, they are excited to share the place that convinced them to call this home.

Jeff SpiegelThe founder of Cayo Frances Farm & Fly. His vision has brought countless guests and connected people around the world. While he’s off to his next adventure at Rocky Point Permit Camp, he continues to find the time and put forth the effort to keep an eye out for all things at The Camp

Rebecca Coutant: From her San Pedro Scoop website, Rebecca, has provided followers with endless knowledge of all things in and around Ambergris Caye.

Cooper Beckett: While operating No Name Lodge, Cooper has provided countless hours of training and backend support to our new ownership team.

Over the years numerous folks have worked selflessly to capture and depict what is unique and special about camp. We’re forever indebted to their creative efforts.
